 Tässä on jo toinen koronapandemiateemainen art journal aukeama, jonka teen. Tätä asiaa tulee koko ajan joka mediasta, väkisinkin se puski läpi ajattelusta arttiin. Jokainen kun omalta osaltaan tekee parhaansa ja noudattaa terveysviranomaisten ohjeita, niin ehkä tämä poikeustila vielä joskus loppuu...

This is my second art journal spread inspired by news and all the information that media continuously tells us. This tiny virus has messed up whole world...  If everyone would try their best, protect their selves and others, maybe some day this will end and we get back to normal life...

And now, some more Chocolate cards! The base cardstock box is from Finnish craft supplies maker JKPrimeco (you only need to build it with glue or double sided tape and then you can decorate the box as you want) , and each box I filled with 200g bar of Finnish premium Chocolate. We allready had some snow, but now it has been raining pure water for three days so all the white is gone. I hope we will get snow for Christmas ❄️

Hyvää Pääsiäistä! Happy Easter time!

Pääsiäinen lähestyy ihanan aurinkoisissa ja keväisissä merkeissä. Aurinko paistaa ja melkein kaikki lumi on jo sulanut. Krookuksetkin heräilevät kukkapenkissä.... ihana kevät!
Tokmannilla myytiin täytettäviä pahvimunia, joitta on vintagehenkinen pääsiäispainatus. Vaan eipä kelvannut minulle, joten tuunailin munan uuteen kuosiin. Vein sen tänään työkavereille, suut makiaks 😀

Easter is coming and we are having very springish weather: sun is shining and almost all of the snow is gone. Today i saw that crocus flowers are starting to grow in my garden. I just love spring!
I found cardstock eggs from the market near us. They are refillable and had quite nice vintage-themed Easter pictures on them. But i could not help it, i just had to alter the egg with mixed media style. I filled the painted egg with goodies and took it to work to make my colleagues happy 😀

Art & Roses

Ruusutarhassa kirmaava possu kirvoitti vielä sarjan ruusuaiheisia atc-kortteja, koska ihastuin mustalla gessolla tehdyn taustan päälle töpsöteltyihin ruusuihin. Ruusut on siis tehty Amsterdam-akryyleillä tuputtamalla sabluunan läpi. Lisäilin ruusuihin valoa ja varjoja CreArten akvarelliliiduilla. Päälle vielä tekstisabluunan läpi Pentartin kultavahaa, akryylimaaliroiskeita ja hiukan kultapunosta. Arttihenkiset tekstit 7DotStudion skräppisetistä.

Inspired by my biggie in rose garden, i continued working with rose stencil. Background is recycled cardstock painted with black gesso. I dabbed the roses with Amsterdam acrylics and highlighted them with CreArte watercolor crayons. Then rubbed Pentart gold wax through script stencil, added some paint splashes and thin gold string. Texts are from 7DotStudio set.

Kevättä ilmassa

Ostin hiljakkoin purnukan Rangerin Crackle pastea ja olen sitä nyt innoissani sörkkinyt joka paikkaan. Nämä keväiset perhoskortit syntyivät krakleerausaineella, finetecin pearl-vesivärillä ja kahdella vhreän sävyn brusholla. Ja tietenkin pieni perhonen.

I have just bought a jar of Ranger Crackle paste, and i got so exited about it, that lately i have been using it for almost everything. These spring themed cards came with crackle paste, finetec pearl watercolor and two different shades of green brusho. And of course, butterfly. The Finnish text says: Congratulations!

Time Flies

I had the very great honor to be a guest designer on Try it on Tuesday challenge. From 22nd of January challenge theme is "Time Flies". I ended up thinking that yes, time really flies. And that is why we should not waste our days waiting for future, something to happen or something to become. I am trying to learn how to enjoy the little things every day and live in the moment -not in the past or the future. Well, there is quite much to learn!
I tested my new Ranger Sticky embossing powder for this one. It is kinda difficult to get the shine of foil to be seen in the pictures.

Sain suuren kunnian olla Try it on Tuesday-haasteen tammikuun toisessa teemassa vierailevana dt:läisenä. Aiheena oli Time Flies, ja kyllä aika todellakin lentää. Siksi pitäisi yrittää elää tässä hetkessä, ei tulevaisuudessa tai menneessä. Siinäpä onkin opittavaa!

Warm feelings / Lämpimiä tunteita

Nyt vihdoin alkaa joulumieli olla minullakin... Huh, entisenä jouluhöperöihmisenä ehdin jo huolestua! Viikonloppuna pääsimme 8v. poikani joulujuhlaan kotikuntamme kirkkoon. Reipas tokaluokkalaiseni pääsi lukemaan luokkatoverinsa kanssa ensimmäisen joulun tarinaa. Oman lapsen lukema evankeliumi sai minut vihdoin joulunodotusfiiliksiin. Ja taisipa tulla vielä tippakin linssiin 💗 Viikonloppuna myös juhlistimme pikkujoulua perheen kesken ja leivoin lasten kanssa pipareita ja piparkakkutalon. Jouluvalot, joulunpunaiset verhot keittiössä ja piparkakku"talosta" leijaileva tuoksu luovat kotiin lisää joulutunnelmaa. Tervetuloa meille, joulun henki 🌲
Kokeilin näihin kortteihin viime vuonna joulunjälkeen alesta hankkimiani Recollectionsin jääkarhuleimoja. Taustat tein leimaamalla, brushoilla ja itse tekemälläni finetec+brusho mistillä.

At last i am getting on to the Christmas mood!! I was starting to get worried, because i have always  been a Christmas fanatic. At weekend we had my younger son´s school Christmas celebration at the local church. My son had been selected to read the Nativity story from Luke 2. It was touching and i got very emotional 💗 At weekend we also baked gingerbread "house" with kids. Christmas lights on windows, Christmas curtains, sentence of the gingerbread. Welcome, the spirit of Christmas 🌲
I have bought these Recollections ice bear stamps last year, but haven´t tried these before. Background is made with Brushos and finetec watercolours.

Halloween night, movie night!

Halloween time is coming! I got the idea to this nine card ATC series, when is saw poison green scrap paper stripes in the top of the bloody red paper. It reminded me about the shirt of Freddy Grueger in the Nightmare on the Elm Street movies. So first i started to do ATC pair "Elm Street", but while working, i started to think about many horror movie classics that we used to watch with friends while i was a teenager. So the pair grow to be nine card series of old horror movies from the 80´s and 90´s, all made from the leftover scraps and cardstock on my desk. Techniques and paints i used vary a lot, because i just "Slapped these on" like it is asked on Try it on Tuesday challenge. And maybe these would fit also to a Dream in Darkness current challenge.

 For Elm street and Bram Stocker´s Dracula there is two cards just because there was enough material. And, when you want to play, you gotta play: i found my Glow-in-the-dark-paint from the drawer and now you can see the card 9/9 Alien Glowing in the dark also!
Nowadays i don´t dare, nor want to watch horror movies... too exiting for me. But these movies are the classics... from the time when they just scared a little bit 😉

Halloweenin aika lähestyy ja illat pimenevät! Tämä yhdeksän ATC-kortin sarja sai alkunsa siitä, kun maalaamiani tummanvihreitä suikaleita oli verenpunaiseksi maalatun kartongin päällä. Väreistä tuli yhtäkkia mieleeni Painajainen Elm Streeetillä-elokuvan Freddy Kruegerin paita. Joten lähdin puuhaamaan näistä jämäpapereista ELM street ATC-paria. Vanhoja kauhuelokuvia alkoi putkahdella päähäni enemmänkin ja korttipari paisui yhdeksän kortin sarjaksi 80- ja 90-luvun vanhoja kauhuleffoja. Kaikki kortit on tehty jämäpapreista ja -kartongeista, joita pöydäläni kuljeksi. Käytetyt tekniikat ja maalit vaihtelevat paljon, koska kasasin nämä vain nopsasti kasaan, kun inspiraatio iski. Osallistun näillä Try it on tuesday haasteeseen "Slap it on". Elms Street ja Dracula saivat kaksi korttia ihan vaan siksi, että materiaalia sattui riittämään. Ja, lapsi on terve kun se leikkii: löysin lipaston laatikosta pimeässä hohtavan maalin ja pitihän sitä lisätä Alien-korttiin!

Teini-ikäisenä olin kovasti innostunut kauhuelokuvien katsoja, ja taisipa kauhuleffat olla silloin myös "muotia". Nykyään hermot eivät kestä mitään liian jännittäviä elokuvia, enkä koe mitään hinkua niitä katsoa. Nämä leffat ovat kuitenkin klassikkoja... Siltä ajalta, kun pelotti vaan silleen silleen sopivasti 😉

Too Creepy!

Alien. Ridley Scott´s masterpiece with Sigorney Weaver... I think this might be one of the first movies, that had strong and fearless woman heroine.  And first space/alien horror movie.
